The magician displays a large wooden tube with openings cut in the sides. The tube is rested on an ornate stand. A solid metal blade is pushed through additional slots in the middle of the box dividing it into two sections. A solid looking wooden block is displayed and then dropped into the top of the tube. Of course the block is stopped by the metal blade, keeping it in the upper section of the box. With a tap of the magician’s finger however, the audience sees the block pass right through the metal blade! The blade is removed, the box is lifted, and the block is again displayed.
 
This is an astounding visible penetration, the audience actually seeing the block pass through the blade via the holes in the box. It is a direct and powerful penetration effect that is easy to do and visible enough for any sized audience. The effect can even be done close-up and surrounded.
