The magician displays a beautiful bright red cage. The audience can clearly see the emptiness of the cage through the front metal bars. The magician opens the top trap door and places several dove onto the perch in the cage. Then suddenly the magician lifts-up and removes the top, the four sides fall down, and the doves visibly transform into a rabbit! The transformation is instantaneous and very magical. Of course the doves can change into anything other than a rabbit such as a teddy bear or other plush animal. 
 
The use of a cabinet to transform doves into another animal was promulgated by U. F. Grant and the late MAK Magic (Indian Dove Chest). It was Dallas magician Rick Walker who developed the idea of taking the Grant/MAK prop and adding the open front and cage bars. Rick commissioned George Kimery of Chalet Magic in Limestone, Tennessee to build the first Chalet prop. Of course the Doves to Rabbit prop is now synonymous with the Kimery/Chalet legacy. 
 
Unfortunately George Kimery and Chalet Magic are no more and so are his Dove to Rabbit cages, which have not been made for a number of years. This one came from a magic shop that went out of business, and we only have this one available.
